Obituary
Raised in Oak Park, Ill., Judy and Jerry raised their family in Skokie (Devonshire) and later moved to Glencoe before residing in Glenview. He was the successful owner and heart of Steven Supply Company which supplied the contractors of some of Chicago’s most iconic buildings–the Sears Tower, John Hancock Building, Standard Oil Building, United Center and numerous hotels and residential towers. He was devoted to his work and his customers, and he did not retire until he was 86 years old.
An athlete from an early age, he was an active tennis player, golfer and skier. He relished yearly family skiing vacations in Vail, CO, and he encouraged all of his grandchildren to golf and ski. Jerry was an adoring grandfather who was always available and “hands on” for his family. He was an avid reader, who devoured newspapers and magazines and looked forward to getting the latest John Grisham and Daniel Silva novels. He was extremely friendly and was able to talk to anyone. His stories, his business discussions, his wisdom and his warmth will be missed. The family gives special thanks to Dr. Barry Goldberg for his kindness and care.

Jerry was always so kind and caring. He cared deeply for and was supportive of Julie, my bestie and his daughter. He was quick to laugh and always happy to be in conversation. My heart goes out to Judy, Steve and Julie and the rest of the family. I’m there with you in spirit. Lots of love, Jodi
